Visa Suspension May Cost Travel and Hospitality Industry by INR 8500 Crore

The Ministry of Home Affairs had stated that all the existing visas issued to any other country will completely stand suspended till April 15, 2020. But, this will not apply to officials, diplomats, employment and project visas and the United States/International Organizations. According to reports, the travel and hospitality industry is moving towards its worst crisis with at least INR 8500 crore, due to suspension of most visas over the fear spreading of Covid-19 (coronavirus) which would result in lower footfall and drop in business for tour operators, hotels and the aviation industry. Tour Operators and Hotels have seen a bounce in cancellations, particularly after the WHO (World Health Organization) declared the outbreak of Covid-19 (coronavirus), a PANDEMIC.
